Job Title: Head of Professional Service – China
Reporting To: Manager Director of Asia
Location: China
Job Purpose:
The overall purpose of the position is to generates positive business outcomes through functional administrative and contribute to the financial success of SHL China through SHL solutions and services. The Head of Professional Service provides executive and management to the PS department, directing a team responsible to providing solutions consultation, project management, implementation services, and assessment program evaluation to SHL’s customers.
This role is key to support our transformation journey with a reputation for offering finest in class solutions to client across a diverse and varied portfolio.
Reporting to the MD of Asia and works closely with commercial team, global & central service functions globally.
In order to achieve this, the Head of PS should:
Know SHL’s business and offerings
Provide clients with exceptional service
Make a strong and positive impression on existing and prospective clients, fostering positive relationships at every level
Know customers business challenges and appropriately align SHL’s solutions to help achieve their goals
Promote SHL’s values of professionalism, integrity, ethics and quality in all client communication.
Develop and maintain strong internal working relationship
Key Accountabilities:
Headship and Management
Head and manage Consultants enabling them to achieve work goals as well as personal development goals.
Drive the resourcing and have administrative oversight for all Associates
Drive and manage the PM office and resourcing team
Drive the process of developing case studies and business outcomes studies
Participate and contribute to Headship Group
Collaborate with global functions to foster and support the transformation and implement global strategy to local business
Provide oversight, guidance, and leadership on professional development, and day-to-day management to China PS team, facilitating a program of continuous professional development, recruiting and retaining top talent.
Guide the financial performance of the department with respect to driving revenue generating activities. Drive the change to value-based services within the new solution model; Ensuring PS reporting includes data to capture the level of effort and resourcing needed.
Business Planning
Contribute to the annual budgeting process
Prepare the PS model for China
Provide, analyse, interpret and report on business data
Establish the strategic direction and goals for the department, including the development of new solution services and tools, business development strategy, and alignment with product and business strategy – all to ensure outstanding customer results and strong financial management.
Contribute to the ongoing definition and development of PS strategy, offering and methodologies, as well as to the broader product development efforts of the organization to grow China business – identifying opportunities to drive the bookings numbers.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the industry (including empirical research, industry trends, and competitors).
Participate in cross-functional meetings, projects, and initiatives related to setting strategy and objectives, developing new products and services, improving processes, and coordinating cross-functional activities and communication to drive continuous improvement of China PS (and Global PS) solutions.
Identify gaps in the market and opportunities to strengthen our proposition areas; identifying opportunities to innovate; share finest practice; bringing in external expertise and examples; facilitating work to continuously enhance our delivery and solutions to ensure we maintain market position; using global network and external network to drive this.
Client
Assist Sales Team to generate opportunities and win those in pipeline through participation in senior level meetings, presentation and providing functional assists
Participate in senior level customers meetings and presentations
Guide & resolve customer issues and complaints
Serve as an qualified resources and escalation point to clients and internal stakeholders about issues related to job analysis, custom assessment design, selection system design and validation, and related solution & consulting services.
Client Advocacy - Taking on exec sponsor roles on critical projects; delivering at a senior level; picking up significant presales opportunities and attending pitches; presenting at events in the market; contributing to the design of content for SHL events; getting involved in PR and brand promotion activities
Delivery
Drive strategic and significant PS project
Coach and mentor PS team members in the project management & delivery service
Review & refine PS service to ensure achievement is of the highest standard and quality and whenever possible exceed client expectations.
Requirements:
Proven relevant experience in B2B consulting with a strong headship track record
Experienced innovator of multiple and diverse teams including commercial, consultants, Associates and Assist Functions
Experienced in collaborating with global function and leaders on business strategies and plans.
Strong business acumen with commercial focus, including revenue and resources management
Proven and successful experience guiding to achieve commercial objectives and targets.
Excellent presentation experiences
Strong relationship building experiences
Knowledge of how to work with diverse clients, build client relationship and assist team members
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Psychology and/or Human Resources, IO Psychology or a related field (PhD preferred), or equivalent work experience.
