The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.
We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Analyst Engineer to join our team in Shanghai. This role goes beyond traditional data analysis — you will be at the forefront of machine learning, generative AI (GenAI), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), multimodal systems, and agentic AI development. As these areas become increasingly central to our digital transformation, we are looking for someone who is not only technically proficient but also passionate about building scalable, intelligent systems that drive business value.
You will work closely with domain experts, data scientists, and software engineers to design and implement advanced analytics solutions, develop intelligent agents, and contribute to the evolution of Corning’s digital capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven innovation.
- Design and implement machine learning models and GenAI solutions, including RAG pipelines and multimodal applications.
- Develop and deploy intelligent agents using frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, and embedding-based architectures.
- Conduct data processing, feature engineering, and model evaluation using Python, Databricks, and GitLab CI/CD.
- Translate complex, loosely defined problems into actionable analytics and AI solutions.
- Contribute to the architecture and development of scalable, reusable AI components.
- Continuously improve agile workflows and participate in cross-functional development initiatives.
Education, Experience, and Licensing:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics, machine learning, or AI solution development.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, GitLab, and cloud-based data platforms.
- Familiarity with embedding models, vector databases, and LLM orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, agile development, and version control systems.
Technical Qualifications:
- Experience with RAG architecture, multimodal AI, or agentic systems.
- Knowledge of data engineering and data pipeline automation.

- Demonstrated systems perspective when analyzing problems, thinking about overall operation, failure modes and how to address these problems proactively

- Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to break down complex technical systems to help business partners understand the value

- Ability to collaborate with other teams across the company, defining technology roadmaps, sharing experiences and lessons learned for continual improvement
